Should I stay or should I go?
Having blipped Kit the labradorable, it seems only fair to devote one to Flynn our husky matinée idol. Here he is on this evening's walk in the hills above La Caumette.
Fortunately Flynn is fairly dim-witted (or bone idle) because it means that he lets Kit make all the decisions. After we bought Flynn we found out that one should never let huskies off the lead as they have a very strong going-off-on-their-own gene. Apparently there's a moment when they are around one year old when you have to spot them sniffing the air of the distance, then a) catch them and b) tell them 'no' in no uncertain terms. Otherwise they're off, and it'll be hell for the rest of your/their lives. Most husky owners keep them firmly on a lead.
Flynn has made it to five years old without us having lost him for very long. These days he is content to stay with us - we lead pretty interesting lives and he seems to like being a member of our pack. Thank goodness.
