Kilbagie
Menacing clouds. Hay bales. An open gate. Pylons. A flock of geese heading home to roost. This one's got it all. Oh, and another abandoned sofa (already blip-tagged twice).
The factory in the middle distance is an abandoned paper making factory - currently being demolished by the looks of it - where my auld man worked for around 45 years (and a brother did too for a while). Used to enjoy our little trips down there when we were kids into the factory and see the huge paper-making machines churn out their paper onto rolls that looked like huge toilet papers. Would like to have gotten in their and taken some pics for old times sake, before it all comes down.
Woke up to the news on the radio this morning that Acronymphomania first brought to our attention last Friday concerning Braehead Shopping Centre (sorry, it's apparently a mall now) and the sorry story of their heavy handed approach to someone daring to take a photograph within their shiny white walls, of their own kid eating an ice cream. It's been all over the news today and discussed here in the forums. After a fantastic show of support for a boycott of the place with nearly 17,000 people (so far) showing their disgust through social media sites and reports on the national news, Braehead saw fit to issue a rather weak apology and a retraction of their NO PHOTOGRAPHY policy. Aye right. The potential of losing thousands of customers in the run up to Christmas made them keech their pants.
Running out of abandoned sofas now... anyone spot one around?
