Headless?

Much uncertainty today about what to blip. We had very harsh bright light and although it produced some fantastic colours, it didn't really produce highly blippable photos out of the relatively small numbers I took today.

It was an interesting day. An academic event which celebrated someone's 60th birthday and also the 20th anniversary of the publication of one if his most influential papers. We ended the day swapping lists of the ten books which had influenced us most in our professional context, which led to much debate about whether we define ourselves narrowly or broadly as academics. Very interesting. Earlier there were meetings with ex-Edinburgh natives currently in Florence - much missed in one case, and to complete a multitasking day I has one discussion to complement last Thursday's meeting in Brussels and managed to persuade a fellow conferee to subject himself to an interview for another research project.
