A Weedgie Weedge World
I had promised to go out early on the bike today as we were off to Glasgow with Robert (in the photo) and his two lads! in the afternoon. It was raining and their was a pretty stiff westerly so initial pace was slow. We were home by 10:30 though after making it as far as Kirkliston. I didn't have any zip in my legs, was grumpy for 75% of the ride but was glad I went in the end.
We then headed off for Haymarket to meet the gang and thento Queens Park in Glasgow to meet one of Rosemary's friends. Lunch was at Tapa which I was excited about because they made their own bread and had a micro roaster for coffee.
The bread was amazing, the chips exceptional and my veggie burger ordinary. I couldn't wait for coffee but was disappointed because I was served an over-extracted slightly voluminous BSCA espresso blend. It did have potential though as I still managed to get a hind of rich chocolate texture....I'd guess they were good beans but the barista needs training.
I fancied the Aceh Tengah Sumatran bean blend that they had advestised but had to settle with the Finca Bourbon from Guatamala...I think I'll take then to NTP to get Wayne to make pour-over so that we can geek out on it.
We all went to the park for a few hours and I was annoying everyone by taking loads of snaps....some rally good ones too, then a rush back over to Edinburgh by which time I was running on empty.....ice cream from the Chocolate Tree helped, we spent a bit of time at Robert and Hayley's and then off home!
Wow, what a busy day!
