Black fly is amongst us again.

(When I first arrived here in North America I actually believed the Canadian urban legend about a swarm of blackflies driving a moose insane and ultimately nipping it to death. After witnessing the swarms of these entities in action in Northern Ontario and having experienced their feeding frenzy, this is a surprisingly plausible scenario.)

My first kill of the year!
It was a fairly typically sized specimen: maybe 2mm long.
