Peer Pressure
6.30 p.m. A House Somewhere In Shrewsbury, Shropshire
Sat in a darkened room endlessly tapping away at the Macbook and emailing yet another member of the House Of Lords. At this very moment they are debating the second reading of the coalition's widely unpopular Health And Social Care Bill which will be voted upon this time tomorrow evening and if passed, shall allow private companies to asset strip a National Health Service that belongs to the people of this country.
But, it's never too late. You can still Adopt-A-Peer and try and influence the course of the vote. If you feel put off by something to write, you can simply copy and paste this wonderful letter. Today I have received emails from people as varied as Blair's old mucker Lord Faulkner to the bishop Of Ripon, who have told me of their determination to kill this bill entirely. It really is never too late.
