Tree Of Life
Today I attended a funeral. It was the first time I'd driven since my operation but it was great to get back behind the wheel. I took my Auntie to the funeral and , never having driven in a funeral procession before, it was an experience. Within two minutes, some bloke had pulled inbetween me and the second funeral car. He realised though and I was soon back in position....good job because there was every possibility that I would've got lost! Funerals are strange things. I like the fact that people today venture away from the expected and make funerals more personal. The deceased daughters read out a moving poem and then the final song was Mika's "I Don't Feel Like Dancing". That certainly raised a smile or two!
We visited my Dad today. Jed wanted to come with us and he was wearing his karate outfit. My Mum (who was staying at ours to look after the other two) said he shouldn't go visiting in his karate outfit. I thought the main thing is that he wanted to visit so he did, in the karate outfit. My Dad's doing fine. He's had a biopsy taken from the bladder and then chemo into the bladder to kill off any remaining cells. The results will be roughly three weeks and then he'll have to see what happens then. He is in good spirits. He's relieved to have the first proceedure over with.
It has been nice to spend some time with my Auntie today. She's my Dad's twin so they are close.
