Flooding

FLOOD is word on the street. Everyone is talking about it. It's on the news all day long with devastating pictures of water up to the windows in many houses in other provinces of Thailand. At the dorm, the water is just up to the curb on one side of the building. It's where our coffee shop is, so another hard, long downpour could mean the students working in the coffee shop have wet feet.

Stories are floating around of a few years ago when the water got calf-deep in the common area of the dorm and was waste-deep in parts of the university. We're praying it doesn't get that bad this time around. We've been joking that if our street and bottom floor floods, we will just go fishing off the second floor and take the gas tank up to the roof to cook. Sounds a little exciting (for the first day.)
