Christmas Is Coming

In the last 39 years I reckon I have made 39 Christmas cakes - the years I didn't need one balanced against the years I made two or three.

I don't need one this year but, as B&S still have no kitchen, I decided to make one for them, to the same recipe as their wedding cake last year. This was a combination of the Good Housekeeping celebration cake recipe and Delia Smith's Creole cake, soaking the fruit for a week in a generous mixture of alcoholic drinks and spices.
