Forsythia

We all know that the Forsythia flowers in the Spring so why is mine in flower in October?

I noticed this while standing at the kitchen window and was not sure that I was actually seeing it in flower. Admittedly there are not many flowers, but there are more to come unless the frost gets them. I do not think I have ever seen it flower at any other time of the year, but when it is supposed to. Does it know something we do not?
