Diamond tiara
Another dreich day but what a lovely surprise to see that the spiders had been busy in the heather border at the front of the house. This gorgeous web looks like one spider had been carefully weaving a tiara for a princess when the night mist came along and studded it with diamonds. With hardly a breath of wind today it remained sparkling for hours.
I picked a few more chanterelles during the walk this afternoon but can still only find the one spot where they are growing. Cara and Bruce enjoyed their romp amongst the wet grasses and seemed to have their heads frequently stuck in various mossy hummocks. I think the damp air must bring a lot of insects out to play.
