Parents' Evening

Tonight it was parents' evening for the eldest child. I don't know if this is how it works in all schools, but in our school it's a bit like musical chairs without the music. We all sit in a row back-to-back down the middle of the hall and all the teachers sit at desks around the edge. Then as soon as one parent finishes their consultation with a teacher and stands up, everyone piles in and tries to sit in the vacated chair. There is a highly organised appointment system but nobody pays any attention to that. And then when you get to the end and realise you haven't seen the Graphics teacher, you discover they were sitting in the library the whole time but have now gone home because it's their daughter's birthday.
Megan is predicted to get all A grades next summer .... no pressure!
