Lake of Menteith
After doing some shopping at M&S (Meal Deal!), Dunblane, we decided to take a bit of a detour on the way home. Up to Doune, along to Callander then the back road over to Castle Rednock and on to Lake of Menteith. After stopping for photos, we continued to Arnprior before returning to Stirling then home.
Lake of Menteith is the only lake in Scotland. The story is that the name is a back-handed insult to a 13th century Menteith who is alledged to have betrayed The Wallace to Edward Longshanks.
I must apologise for getting a bit behind in my comments - I'm sure you never noticed - buit Blip and/or my laptop have been a bit naughty and not been doing what I asked. I will catch up with you all, promise.
