tried to get an iphone4s pre-ordered today but seeing the data limit being reduced from unlimited to 500mb pissed me off a smidge, especially given my concerns that this new iCloud syncing thing would automatically force my mobile data usage through the roof. i went back home to ponder over the various tarrifs a bit more, and after a little reading it appears i can turn that bit off when on 3G - which is really what i was hoping for seeing as 3G is, well, pretty shyte. i'll return again in the morning.

went for a pint with one of my best mates after tea, a last minute thing suggested by him which i was happy to oblige. He's been hit by a few shitty sticks over the last couple of years, which seems to have come to a head these past few months. he's normally a get-on-with-it kynda guy but for a while now has struggled to crack even the faintest of smiles, which is incredibly heartbreaking to see. but just when i thought he was spiralling down to the lowest of the lows he gave me a glimpse of his former self tonight and actually seemed to be trying to take control again. i just hope it's for real and this is the start of better things to come.
