spider waiting ... just waiting ...

I got a call from Hugh this morning to let me know that he found a couple of large spider webs in the yard with the spiders patiently tending their traps. Now the thing is, in his yard, the spiders tend to build their nests in the bushes along the fence line and tend to rest on the other side, showing us only their unphotogenic bottoms. To capture this fellow I had to break through some older webs (still picking them from my hair) and squeeze between the bush and the fence. All without disturbing him. Eventually both he and I settled down and I was able to capture a few good pictures before I lost the light. Timing is everything!
