Grey old day

It's been a grey old day in Wanaka. Travelled down yesterday in glorious sunshine and it's just rained most of the day today. Still, I did get out for a paddle on the Clutha River in my tippy racing kayak. Quite sobering - for a reasonably flat sectin of river it was still quite hard work. Paddling upstream against the massive push from a big river and dealing with huge boils was taxing. Navigating around a tricky rock requiring a committing move was also fun. Fortunately heading back downstream was a bit more straightforward.
