Astoria

Left Eugene this afternoon bound for the coast. Arrived in Astoria for the last light of day. Though it looks very much like a bay to me, this is the Columbia River. The mouth to the Pacific lies about 10 miles west of this point, yet everything about this place feels like the ocean. If you stood facing east you'd swear the water was just at your back, the waves about the eclipse your heels.
