Learning day by day

Baa!

William doesn't say sheep, he just says 'Baa' while signing the horns. Until today I don't think he had really seen horns like the sign.

After my little outing on the treadmill (it is getting easier Gillybxl but will never be as enjoyable as being outside, but needs must), William and I headed for Woodside Farm. We had a lovely time in the autumn sunshine. I realised, a little sadly, that I haven't had many days out just with my boy. I take him to classes, but normally a day out is either him and Carys or just Carys. It was lovely to watch his wonder at the sheep, pigs, hens (I really want some for home now), alpacas and monkeys.

He loved the tractors and they were nearly my blip. They are all old tractors, sunk in the ground and painted primary colours. They are huge and he climbed up onto every seat without any help and looked tiny in comparison to the tractors.

Will sat in the cafe, near the soft play and ate his lunch without asking to play, which I was impressed with. He and I then spent 40 minutes hairing around the soft play and giggling madly, before going for a real tractor ride. The day was topped off by collecting half a dozen freshly laid eggs from the hen barn. Free range corn fed chickens and eggs that are still warm. My wish for my own hens was only increased as William giggled while gently picking up the eggs and placing them very carefully in the egg box.

More days out are definately on the Mummy and William menu next half term.
