The Good Old Standby

This image represents what may be my favorite part about life here in southern Manabi: pescado y verde asado.

In just 6 months I have grown what could be described as an addiction to unripe roasted plantains. I bought myself a stovetop oven so that I could roast them in my house on a daily basis. But these ones roasted in the brick oven over a wood fire are ultimately the best of the best. And don't get me started on the tastiness of those fish.
