24.3 oz kayak paddle

This paddle was made by my husband Steven, pictured in my art studio - larger here. Asia approves -see her wagging tail? I'll quote Steven, "It's made from 3 pieces of Cedar and the handle is hollow. It is 8 feet long and 3.5 inches wide at the paddle ends. The handle is 1-1/4 inches in diameter. It weighs 24.3 ozs. Dave's lightest paddle (Dave Lucas) weighed about 24.8 ozs I think. Yup, using it tomorrow. I think your dad's and Mac's paddle style is prettier but this Eskimo paddle is so much lighter and works as well or maybe even better."

There is a local "messabout" tomorrow at Bishop Harbor and Moses Hole in Tampa Bay and Steven will be there! Not me this time, it is supposed to be windy. I'll take a rain check, so to speak. : ^ )

p.s. that is one of my dad's hand carved bowls (cherry) on the counter. Steven refinished it for my mom.
