It's a bit difficult to see it on the photo but what comes after the 'and' is a bullet hole.

Underneath it says, 'throw away your weapon for the future of Brasil'.

Brasil IS making progress and there are amnesties to allow people to hand in their guns. (The website address at the bottom of the poster is for this). With the football world cup less than 1000 days away and the Olympic Games in 2016, the world's eyes will be on Brasil. Let's hope they continue with this progress.
