Trixie's Adventures

By TrixieTheCollie

It's hard being a mummy!

For those of you who follow my blips regularly you'll know that this weekend I'm in Derbyshire, helping my owner Ann, look after her two nephews (Dan & Jack), niece Emma, and 'Alfie' the one year old bearded collie.

Ann says it's hard being a 'mummy'. This is what she's had to do today:-

1) Up at 7.30am, shower before any 'teenagers' decide to hog the bathroom whilst making themselves irresistible to the opposite sex (which they will obviously deny- but we know otherwise?!).

2) Morning walk for myself and Alfie. Jack (Ann's nephew) came on our walk. Jack always comes on our walks if he's around. It was fun. We went across the fields and through the woods.

3) Breakfast for the humans & us doggies. I snarled at Alfie when I realised he was having breakfast, even though I had my own breakfast. That resulted in me being shut out of the kitchen while Alfie ate.

4) Myself & Alfie had 'snooze' time while the humans went shopping in Derby. 12 year old Emma wants her ears pierced ('cos, 'everyone else in my form has had them done!'). Ann was tempted to take her to have them done - except her sister; Sue had already warned her that she'd go mad with both Ann & Emma if they did. Not worth the hassle is it?!

5) Home for lunch. Jack is a brilliant chef. Definitely the next 'Jamie Oliver'. We had a superb lunch. - 'Jamies macaroni' - YUM YUM.

6) Emma wanted to get her 'maths' homework over & done with. Well Ann couldn't help her with that. Thank goodness Dan is a 'boff'! (Just where did the word 'boff' originate from? Must be a teenage thing?!)

7) What does everyone in 'surburbia' do on a Sat aft? - wash the car. So that's what Ann did. Jack helped her and Dan fixed his bike. I got tied to a tree in the front garden so I could watch.

8) Another walk - 2 hours this time, except by this time the only 'child' that wanted to come with me was Jack. We had a fantastic walk through the woods. The only problem was; Alfie was in 'show off' mode. Look how high he's jumping in this blip. But just what is the point of this? All Jack was holding was a bit of grass! I showed Alfie how to wallow in mud. I got filthy but for some reason Ann seems to think a blip of Alfie jumping is better than a blip of me wallowing. Grrrrrr, grrrrrr .................................

9) Another meal. Ann says her sister has taught the children how to cook brilliantly. They are really looking after us this weekend.

10) X Factor. Definitely time for Ann to have a glass of wine?!

Hope your Saturday's been as much fun as mine - woof, woof!
