The game, as always, hinged on scrums. The referee is going through his routine instruction: "Crouch - Touch - Pause - Engage!", and on the final command, 16 heavily built athletes collide.

Looking on is Saints' no. 11, Vasily Artemyev, the Russian international winger, recently returned from the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

Vasily went on to score a hat-trick of tries for Saints, thus endearing him to the supporters. And Saints beat Saracens by 36-6.
