Perfect morning reduced to ashes

When you've lived for many years with neighbours as wonderful and kind as the old couple in the house opposite, even the brightest sunniest Sunday morning cannot lift the spirits to see their house reduced to ashes. The bright spot is that the elderly lady is safe and sound since the fire started while she having morning coffee. Such events put the rest of life's little troubles into perspective.
