Chinatown Gate

Very, very hard to pick a blip from this fantastic day.

Early start and we walked and walked. Up and down the hills of San Francisco, loving every minute.

We found a great route that took us through Chinatown, Nob Hill, Russian Hill and North Beach.

Stopped in Chinatown for some great souvenirs, some tacky buys and some fantastic photo opps. Nob Hill saw us calling in at the Cable Car station and Museum, walking past Grace Cathedral and sitting chilling with the locals at a great neighbourhood bar.

Russian Hill was just a lovely walk, through streets with a cooling canopy of trees, to Lombard Street for a thousand photos of the cars twisting round its hairpin bends. And then relaxing in North Beach. A late Italian lunch, a wander past where the Beat poets used to hang out, and a great espresso and glass on wine (we couldn't decide which we wanted, so why not have both?) to finish the day.
