Holy ground project

We went on the West Bristol Art's Trail today. It was an open house of all kinds of art. We found these shoes in a church and an exhibit entitled the Holy Ground Project which had a circle of circa 30 pairs of shoes each with a story. These belonged to a boy born in the Netherlands during the WW2 Germany occupation. His father died and his mother was without money. He was wearing these shoes and they became too small and his feet were growing so his mother cut off the leather to allow his feet room. His mother turned to a Pastor who arranged for them to be fed. He now lives in London and worships at St Marks, Battersea Rise and assists others.
