Metro
Today's the day ......................... to get around Paris
Went to the open air market at Bastille where the range of fruit, vegetables, meat, cheese, fish and much else is completely overwhelming. You really couldn't be anywhere else but France! Then we had an appointment for lunch at one of the oldest restaurants in the city. Chartier opened in 1896 and was originally a canteen for workers. The walls are lined with tiny drawers that were used by each worker to store his napkin.
Travelling round Paris is made very easy by the Metro. It seems much more spacious than the London Underground - probably because there is two-way traffic at every platform. Trains are very frequent - and the price of a ticket is much cheaper.
Lots of adverts for Scottish whisky ...................
