A rainy day, back yard blip
A rainy, windy day...a perfect day to sit inside and read a good mystery, which is exactly what I did. My neighbor and book-reading buddy loaned me the latest Charles Todd novel, A Bitter Truth. Set in France and England during WWI, this book, and others by this mother-son writing team, skillfully combines mystery with history. They make for a fun read...and today was a perfect day for that kind of fun. After church this morning, I picked up the book and plopped myself down on the sofa for the rest of the afternoon and evening.
Along about 4 pm, I surfaced long enough to remember that I needed a blip. Dragging my lazy self off the sofa, I walked to the window, looked out at the back yard, and discovered one bright spot of color in the bleak, sodden landscape. Carrying the camera out into the drizzle, I captured a few shots and quickly returned to my book. More weather of this sort is expected in the week ahead...actually for most of the week ahead, except for possibly a glimpse of sunshine tomorrow. We shall see.
