Fruits of the forest

So begins my stay in Humboldt County. Today a friend and I made our way to an undisclosed location to harvest Chanterelle mushrooms. We were met with great success (and teeny tiny salamanders) as we scrounged around the spongy detritus of the forest floor. It was transcendent.
