Dawn's Delight

What a beautiful sunrise this morning, taken on my way to work. It was definitely a "calm before the storm" sky.

Some hours after this delight, there was a wind frenzy and it bucketed freezing rain which left floods and branches littered everywhere. The temperature this morning was 12C and its is now 4C. Bitter, damp and raw. Thermals and emergency pack ready for the boot! Note to self - buy a new torch!

The return to the workhouse was fine actually as it is always lovely to see my colleagues and the children. They all know how to have a good holiday. The parents are of course delighted that teacher and pupil are reunited!

Susan is still here which is such a treat. I have come home to a warm house, the fire on and dinner ready to cook.

I think is the warmth of having her here rather than the physical heat of the house that is such a treat.
