Shedloads of Joy
Where we go on holiday, there is a dead tree that has been painted blue and red, and with two beautiful calm women's faces. Betsy and I always see it on our early morning walks and have always loved it. This year we had the idea of painting our shed in the same style as a sort of reminder and tribute. Today we actually got around to starting. Al was at my mum's after school, so on a whim, Betsy and I rushed to the DIY store and bought the paint. I was thrilled with the result though it's not finished yet. We have to paint the detail on the faces when this first coat is dry. We had planned on doing the side only but I think we might do the front too. Betsy is thrilled with it as you can see.
I took my Aunt Linda to Gatwick today to catch a flight back home to Alicante. It was nice to do something outside after being in the car for three hours. I did 5 miles on the bike round Bushey Park but it's still sitting down! I didn't feel like running for some reason. I'm planning on doing a 6 mile run this week which you do need to be in the mood for. I'm going out with my friend Wendy tomorrow night so I will *not* be running on Wednesday I think!
It's lovely spending time with Betsy one on one, she chattered away non-stop about school and her friends and it was really lovely. She tells me she is table monitor for her table. Her table is The Custard Creams. They are all named after biscuits, The Oreos, The Jammy Dodgers, The Jaffa Cakes, The Hob-Nobs, much funnier than last year where all the tables were named after great rivers of the world, yawn.
