Daily Commute
I took this (pretty average) photo today on the train, on my way home from accepting the job I applied for on Tuesday, and successfully got!
I'm pretty elated - seems like a really amazing job (challenging, rewarding, creative, fun) so I'm realllllly looking forward to starting on Monday :)
My (new) boss even gave me the news that he has chosen a nice new bright yellow Dell laptop for me - which I'm allowed to take home (probably in the hope I'll continue working into the night). Not sure why he chose yellow for me, but he seemed pretty happy with his choice. I didn't have the heart to tell him I already have one in red ;-)
I'll be working on Collins Street, in the inner city - which is pretty much the suit-and-tie capital of Melbourne. In fact, the famed Australian painter John Brack immortalised Collins Street in his painting Collins Street, 5pm - which, spookily enough, Ben bought a print of a few weeks ago, when we visited the National Gallery of Victoria. Coincidence or not, at least I'll be able to tell my kids I too was a Collins Street 5pm-er.
