Not saving the rainforest

L and I went to see our lovely bank manager Suzelle today. With our new building project due to start in a few weeks we need a new, easily accessible account.

This being France, it ain't that simple. Of course. You can't just have one savings account, you have to have several, because "this one's the best but you can only put this amount in it. And then there's this one but that's only a little bit. And then there's this one which is pretty good but includes a government tax which goes to social housing and state mortgages, And then there's the Livret B though, bien sur, the interest is not "genial" but you can put most money in there. So you must move all your money around from one to another in the right order all the time. Okay?"

We now have 9 accounts. Suzelle's printer was going like the clappers trying to keep up with the paperwork. There are 24 pages.
