A man and his horse

In Edinburgh today and passed this fine statue (of Wellington I think) standing guard outside the Registers of Scotland building.

There's a set of rules that I think is an urban myth about how many of the horses' hooves are off the ground in military statues and how the person died, in battle or in their bed in old age for example.

Not sure if this conforms but its certainly a good landmark.

Of course if this was in Glasgow it would have an ironic traffic cone on its head. Hmmm there's a blip idea for tomorrow...
