Turbine Hall

Well, we took a break from Denny's for breakfast and headed out to Lake Mead today.

We headed out for a cruise on the lake to see the Hoover Dam from from the paddle steamer. Got a group foto of us all on a fridge magnet...how very nice.

Lunch in the marina, where the fish were literally jumping out of the water to get fed.

Headed back to the car and round the corner to see the Hoover Dam properly. Some nice person handed us some free tickets to the tour that they weren't using...so a nice wander down to the diversion tunnels (which thankfully were not in use) and then onto the turbine hall (pictured above). All very art deco and cathedral like inside.

Back to the hotel to get changed, KT and Gortex have their "pre evening drinks" then headed out to the mall. Gortex became all excited in the cookery shop with lots of cupcake accessories.

Then dinner at the Mexican at Treasure Island. KT and Gortex becoming ever more giggly as they drank margaritas.

After dinner, we ended up in the "Cowboy Bar" with Bikini Clad Waitresses in chaps and a mechanical bull. Eubers didn't want to leave for some reason, but the line dancing was just too much....
