The space between

It's easy to forget the gap that sits above the lowered ceiling in the bathroom.

But today, while I was painting the hatch in it, I was surprised to find it's not the pitch-dark space I'd assumed it would be. Instead there's a strange orange glow from the lights pointing down through the ceiling.

Nicely eerie, I thought.

Especially with that giant white snake.
