Old remedies

It seems amazing to me, when I buy olive oil every week by the litre for cooking, that there was a time when people in Britain bought it in these tiny phials 'for medicinal and household use'. The Chillie paste is said to be a replacement for mustard plaster, another old-fashioned remedy. I don't know how long these had been left unused in my mother-in-law's cupboard. An emotional day, beginning to sort things out in the house, but fun too with all the family here to help out.

There's a lot going on, so I haven't much time for commenting. Thanks to all of you who comment even when I'm not reciprocating. I'll catch up with you all as soon as I can.
