Buachaille Etive Mor
Fort William
The whole idea behind this trip was to do it all on the bike on the right of the picture there. A couple of pannier bags, a rucksack, a tank bag, one pair of underwear, toothbrush and not much more. Best laid plans of mice and (drunken) men and all that?
So, after I'd packed the car this morning with one bag of clothes and two of gadgets and cables, we headed up north through Callander, Lochearn, Crianlarich, Tyrndrum, Bridge of Orchy and on into Glencoe here. The four seasons in one day affected Graham here much more than me (I'm in the car mind) but we took our time and took in the magnificent scenery that our country has to offer. We also buggered about with some filming from the dashboard camera with Barry Sheene here waving me on past so that he could fly in stage left at 12,000 revs in second gear and disappear off into the wild grey yonder. Not a chance he's going to be doing that with me on the back.
We sat and ate our rolls and sausage (2 with HP, 2 without, cooked by Mrs DWD at 9am this morning) a few miles down the road from this in the warmth of the car, taking in the snowy peaks and perpetual bus tours wandering through the Glen. Was awesome and always will be.
Listening now to Graham singing along to some illegal downloads (free Wi-Fi in the hotel, might as well put it to good use) before heading off to find a nightclub/strip joint in Fort William.
