Running for office

Outside my favourite downtown café, she was sitting with her team to plan her campaign for the local November election. She was so cute I felt tempted to give her a hug, but I don't know her. So instead I asked for permission to take a photo. She had a glaring sun straight into her face, so she was forced to close her eyes. Which is not ideal for a portrait. But that is how it was.

This photo is emblematic for Saltspring Island. A relaxed and informal setting, easy to talk to people. And political planning at a nice garden café.
