In the Spotlight

Thin sunshine filtered through orange-tinted stratocumulus clouds produced this effect.

This was a lucky shot. I went out early, hoping to capture special light on the fresh snow, but I missed it. Disappointed, I took a few sombre photos of cattle with the mountains behind. Then I wandered along past a hedge and saw this. I took two shots 18 seconds apart- this one, and another in which the calf is running away and the light has already gone.
