Cafe des Images

The last stop on my tour of france was in Caen, and this is a colourful cinema just outside the town. Very bizarre architecture, reminiscent of jaques Tati on speed. The dome was the auditorium, and had the most physical of acoustics I had ever experienced. A single gentle word uttered came straight back at you with an extraordinary resonance. I think the architect got carried away with the look rather than the practicality of a cinema. Watching the films the slightest noise or cough of anyone around you echoed and came at you from all angles. Quiet disconcerting. But a great progamming policy.
