The climb

Today was fun. We walked along the promenade to Fuengirola Biopark via the old town centre. The Biopark is an excellent zoo, very small but laid out in a way that makes you feel like you're walking through a jungle. The enclosures are cleverly designed - at one point I was very nearly convinced that I was about to walk into a croc enclosure. The highlights were a bird and mammal show, again cleverly designed so that animals, trained with treats, trotted out unaccompanied into a 'forest floor' arena, and the white tiger that tried to take a swipe at us when we looked at him too closely...

After the zoo we walked to Solhail Castle, as featured in that beer ad with the football and Elvis a few years ago. Very good castle, only 3? to get in and full of fun things like these stairs, which were not the hardest to get up... They made me think of Escher, which I like given that only a week ago I was puzzling over the Escher jigsaw at Grianan.
