Peninsula Light

On the Friars' Bridge over the River Ness, Inverness.

Was having a few experiments with this camera to see how it coped with the dim streetlight scene. The view up the river, towards the castle, is quite attractive, but for night-time shots I reckon it's best when the tide is high. When that occurs, the river backs-up here, and slows down a bit more. This means that you'll see all the lights reflecting off the smoothed water surface. Rather lovely, IMHO.

The political conference season continues, with the SNP in Inverness for a few days. I walked past their venue at lunchtime, but fear not, I took no photos of the delegates that were rushing about. I was tempted.

You're also being spared, temporarily, a series of Inverness carbuncles, er, buildings of questionable architectural value - again IMHO. I did take a shot of one suitable candidate. This could be a series, possibly with a poll to establish the most highly rated... or berated.
