I LOVE THE POND
every day, happy to go there, seeing with my own eyes that the universe still works. A very different view but equally loved is the sea-side. There I feel the sensations of the weather, the smells, the sound of the waves, and all the little or big changes. The horizon always there at the same place, a safe feeling.
Yesterday evening I went with Piet Hein to the Pulchri studio, to enjoy an evening consacrated to a new literary magazine Extaze. A varied program with music, poetry and discussion. The poetry of Maaike Klaster and Hanz Mirck touched a sensitive chord in me. Klaster's poetry very elaborate and Mirck's seemingly everyday's tone had an ironic touch.
Kees Schuyt on poet-painter Willem Hussem, a really good introduction with many poems beautifully read by him. No wonder if you know that he has a more than 40-year admiration for Hussem. In later life Hussem wrote haiku's and did calligraphic works too. An inspiration to explore for me, yet.
My haiku:
Muscles the golden
Keys to a scrambled body
Hold myself upright
And the yiddish proverb:
A golden key opens all doors.
Don't have a golden key, don't want to open all doors. Rather want to go outside and look up at the blue sky. Happily there is one today.
