Are you going to Allendale Fair?

Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme plus a bunch of children's rides; a massive local karaoke competition on stage; a national strong man competition; a running race; tons of stalls; an art installation; a pet show and a whole lot more!

Our village won a national 'Village of the Year' competition recently and it is a pretty lovely community to be part of actually. The fair is a great excuse for the villagers to get out and have a good time. It's a big event on the calendar here, along with the Agricultural and Horticultural Shows in August and the huge New Year tar bar'l celebrations which are attended by people from far and wide. Usually it pours with rain on fair weekend, but this year it was nice and warm.

We had a lovely day. Caught up with lots of friends and also enjoyed a drink and some cake in the art cafe. An acoustic band was in the sofa area near our table, and they played this song which is one of my favourites of all time. It was Grace's first gig and she seemed to love it, clapping away :)

More photos of the fair are here.

You can see which part of the country we are in from the Newcastle United shirt. TOON ARMY!!!
