A load of Bull :-)

By EdieBeth

A milestone day today. My daughter moved into her first house. A long hard slog to get here - courtesy of solicitors dragging their heels and overlooking important issues but hey ho. She got there! With a little help from mummy and step-daddy to fund the deposit (which we want back eventually!). But I have never seen her so happy.

The house has stood empty for 3 years and it's taken a team of family and friends to make it fit for habitation. But after a lot of hours of physical hard work - it now looks like home. We left after literally making their bed so they can crash tonight. It is great to see how they have so many people willing to give up their weekend to be there for them.

Picture (bit blurred!) shows my mum (71) who worked her socks off cleaning windows in spite of her dodgy hip and knee - and a happy Lauren breaking for lunch on garden chairs in the living room - awaiting the arrival of the furniture van. It was just such a happy, relaxed moment I just had to capture it :-). Lauren messaged me yesterday when the sale completed to say ' Mum - we have a home for Harry!' (whose arrival is expected in the spring!). How wonderful she is so happy. I treasure these moments - and sharing them with friends and family who pull out all the stops when you need them.

Got a bit sad tonight though and miss my dad who passed away very suddenly and very young when she was only two. She was his world. I know he will be so proud and happy looking down on her today.

So this blip is dedicated to you Dad - I miss you. Xx
