Flower

I have tried to photograph one of these plants before. I am hopeless at taking photos of plants. This plant is particularly difficult. The red in the leaves is way outside the colour gamut of the camera so it blends to a solid colour.

There wasn't much better on offer though. The flu had me bedridden until 12.30. I haven't slept in that late for years! When I finally did get up I gave myself a mental slap and tried to salvage my weekend. I still didn't go anywhere far.

One thing I did get done was re-tune the carby on my motorbike. It has taken me 4 months to get around to it. I took it for a quick blast around the neighbourhood when I was done which left me feeling quite weak. That might have had more to do with the flu than speed at which I was riding. The bike went surprisingly well after being mothballed for so long.

The bad weather we have been waiting for all weekend still hasn't arrived. Lots of local events were cancelled based on the warnings from the Bureau of Meteorology. Someone got it wrong. So far not much rain. Apparently the rain is still coming.
