One of the best things about working in the New Town is being able to go for a very pleasant wander at lunchtime.

Today, my feet took me past Edinburgh Academy. In spite of the pompous columns and the classical inscriptions, it somehow looks less imposing than some of the other posh Edinburgh schools.

I also think that the flagpole and dome-thing on top give it a bit of a nautical air.
