return

return today. there are a few more places to see on our way 3 hour drive back to Mysore. we booked for the cabbie from yesterday. morning started a little later than it did yesterday but the morning stroll was not to be missed. yesterday, we walked left, today we decided on right. Mrs Adda had spotted a narrow lane disappearing into the plantation yesterday. we thought we'll go and figure where it leads. we found ourselves in the middle of a huge plantation with tall trees on either side creating an illusion of a thick jungle. stroll through the winding mud track was the most enjoyable. deep inside, we bumped into the owners of the plantation who was very vocal in expressing her displeasure about strangers roaming around in her private estate. that left a bad taste in the mouth.

after a delicious and sumptuous breakfast, we bid farewell to Aunty. we thanked her for making us comfortable and for the incredible food over the last 2 days. on our way back, we stopped by an elephant park. the river was wide and rough here. there were rafting and boat rides. for a fee, one can even get an "elephant bath". for some reason the elephant bath was closed today and we didnt really have time for rafting.

the visit to the Buddhist monastery was interesting. it was big - bigger than any I've seen in Bhutan. but it lacked the feel of a Buddhist monastery - there were way too many tourists and it was not on top of a hill. but we were fortunate enough to witness a mass prayer.

back in mysore, a pedalled boat ride in a lake before boarding the bus back to Hyderabad.
