New life of the turtle world

The Turtle Foundation has built camps on several of Boavista's beaches, where sea turtles come ashore to nest.
The aim is to ensure the protection of the nesting females, which are
threatened by hunting.
Twelve soldiers, one sergeant and several volunteers give life to the project, which runs until October.
Just in Boavista, 90% of Cape Verde's nesting activity occurs here: an annual average of 3,000 nesting females and 20,000 nests.
We were lucky to get to see some of the new turtles going out into thoe big bad world. We sponsored it and set it on its way
